BIOGRAPHY
David [DC] Restaino is a writer, editor and educator living in London, UK by way of Texas, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He received his MA in Film Studies and English Literature from the University of St Andrews and his MFA in Prose Fiction from the University of East Anglia.
As an editor, he has worked with both prize-winning and debut authors. He is currently the Associate Fiction Editor at The Maine Review, and reads poetry and non-fiction submissions for Kitchen Table Quarterly. He has worked with arts and health-centred non-profits in crafting engaging and compelling copy and marketing materials.
As an educator, through opportunities with programs at University of East Anglia and the National Writing Centre, he has lead workshops for adults and young people. He offers private and group courses.
As a writer, his work has been feature in publications such as Mulberry Literary, Outcrop Poetry, Funicular Magazine and elsewhere. He was runner-up Dillydoun Review’s Flash Fiction Prize and received a Pushcart Prize nomination. His work has received support from Tin House, and is a 2024/2025 emerging fellow at the London Library. He is a current PhD candidate in Creative Writing at King’s College London with funding from London Arts and Humanities Partnership.
